An Excellent Followup The second volume of the third incarnation of X-O Manowar picks up right where the first left off -- Aric of Dacia is a 6th century Visigoth on modern-day Earth in control of a powerful alien suit of armor at war with an alien race known as the Vine who have secretly infiltrated the planet. Aric is a man out of time, and while trying to decide his next move, he finds himself under attack by a group of commandos sent by the Vine to stop him. He ultimately finds an unlikely ally in Alexand. Excellent 2nd volume Hulk181man This 2nd installment in the series follows Aric the Visigoth's return to earth in alien armor. At this point he's still adapting to the armor's weaponry and defensive capabilities. Ninjak's introduction to the Valiant universe is also well handled. Venditti avoids one dimensionalism by instilling Colin King with indepedent motivations and character depth.Lee Garbett's art imparts impressive visual depth, possibly surpassing Cary Nord's work from the first arc (high praise indeed!).
