One suggestion, that electric toothbrushes are easier for some children, especially those with oral sensitivity, was worth the price of the book to me--toothbrushing is no longer an ordeal! The book is fairly short, so is easy to read and eas. I don't recommend I'm an early intervention OT practitioner and I bought this book to see if it had any new ideas I could use in therapy sessions or if it might be helpful to loan to parents as a resource. I can't recommend it, and I think I'm going to ask Amazon if I can return it.The book seems very outdated. Interactive Metronome, Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, Therapeutic Listening, Hippotherapy and the Touch Pressure Protocol (Wilbarger) are described as "alternative therapies" which "might not be helpful" and do not have research behind them, and only have antecdotal reports of success. I would recommend this book to therapist, parents, and others interesting in Motor Skills in children.
