DESCRIPTION:
IT WAS ONLY A GAME BUT HELLER'S STAKES WERE DISASTER AND DEATH.Beeps, blips, zonks, Heller was just a big boy from the high country and he was having a rough time understanding all the fuss over protecting the secret development of a hot new video game.
Mediocre whodunit. Carl Heller. We've met his kind before. Taciturn outdoorsman with a knack for crime solving. He'd much rather be out under the clear Colorado sky communing with nature. But every once in a while he can be convinced to use his skill as a detective to help a deserving victim of crime find justice. In The Video Vandal, Carl takes on a case of industrial espionage against a family-owned computer firm in Colorado Springs. There's not much to the plot, so any appeal the book might have lies in the good old boy persona of Carl Heller himself. With plenty of homespun wisdom and self deprecating humor, Heller reveals himself to be a likeable eve. This fourth installment of the Carl Heller saga was ok This fourth installment of the Carl Heller saga was ok -- unexceptional and some gratuitous sex. I will try the next one and, if no improvement, will abandon the series.
