abrasrose said Disappointment. This book was a big disappointment after the previous two. I'm not going to go into a lot of detail because if you've read the first two books, you'll still want to read this one.Basically, I think the romance took up way too much space in a complicated story. This is particularly true of the lame romantic conflict at the end. This book is at its climax and the story for all three books is being wrapped up and suddenly there's a lame romantic conflict out of nowhere. At least it's resolved quickly. The Annfwn revolutionary subplot seemed very simplistic and just never resonated for me the way. Loved this finale! I loved this finale to the Twelve Kingdoms series. I always loved Ursula and I was excited to get a book of her POV. Harlan was fun (a bit predictable) but I enjoyed their interactions. As always, Ami and Andi were great to see and the finale climax was sufficiently built. I wish there would have been another two or three chapters (or an epilogue) to finish up some of the minor plot points. As is, it feels like it just sort of stopped and we don't really know what happens in the future. Otherwise, a great read with some seriously stunning descriptions.. good romance. Story of three sisters tied up quite Strong characters, good romance. Story of three sisters tied up quite well

That her father would receive her with a foreign witch at one side and a hireling captain at the other—that soldiers would look on her as a woman, not as a warrior.
