"Godly Insight, Encouragement and Substance" according to Paula Geister. I received this devotional as a gift from a friend who really knows my heart. I've read several devotional books over the years. Some were specialized and others I found to not have enough substance. For me, this one comes in second only to Oswald Chambers' "My Utmost For His Highest." Tiegreen doesn't just describe what it was like for first century Christians to live holy lives in order to witness to the world. He takes it further by encouraging us to do the same. Great insight into God's word, which I really appreciate, and enough gentle, respectful conviction to my heart to make me want to do as those early Christians did. I l.
