Dirk Bentley is a private eye who makes a living running a motorcycle repair shop but whose specialty is taking on cases that have completely stumped the cops. Someone is taking and killing teen girls, draining them of their blood. And private investigator Dirk is hired by the last victim's parents to find the killer and so he helps the local police and his girlfriend, an officer of the police also. W. I found this in The Dramatic Dead.Remember the TV series Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased)? This story is along the same lines only in as much there is a ghostly presence who helps the PI - apart from this similarity I can honestly say the story is original, interesting and humour plays a part.The story has been planned out in an orderly fashion and m. For me books are more radio than television and I like to picture the detail in my head When it comes to quirky I'm not always a fan. Some writers try too hard to be clever in devising ways to be original but Brian Nowak seems to have hit the nail on the head with a new twist on a sometimes over worked genre. The Dramatic dead is clever well written and entertaining so it pushed all my right buttons. From a very personal perspective I would suggest that on occasion, less is more and I could have done with cutting back on some of the smaller
