Manheimer this compilation apparently replaced Stories of the Spirit, Stories of the Heart: Parables of the Spiritual Path from Around the World, which is now out of print. while i can recommend them both, i strongly urge those interested in the the book being reviewed to find a used copy of the other. i remember looking for a copy as a gift for someone, and mistaking Soul Food for it. i couldn't find some of my favorite stories, which clued me in to the difference, and overall was struck by more glossiness in Soul Food: Stories at the cost of depth. it's worth seeking out used copies of the other. (i recommend that at some risk of depleting t.
