During a heavy snow storm in the small English village of Birchenlow, Police Officer Sam Lucas and her cop partner, Mac answer a call. A silent alarm is going off. Sam and Mac arrive on the scene amidst gun fire. Sam is in the wrong place at the wrong time and is taken hostage.The two robbers take Sam to an isolated building with a barn. They throw Sam in the dark barn and leave her there. Sam weighs up her chances and decides that she will try to escape. Unfortunately after injuring one of the robbers, Sam is shot in the leg.Doctor Kate Myles has been treating the injuries of some of th. Couldn't put the book down Hells I always rate a book on whether I can put it down. I read this while on holiday and every time I got to the end of a chapter I wanted to know what was going to happen next. This is the 1st book from this author and I hope it's not her last, as I really enjoyed it. Great first novel.
