Mike said Excellent Information!. Road to Relevance: 5 Strategies for Competitive Associations This is a great read for those in Associations or others that need to reposition and refocus for a new marketplace. It is a great follow-up to Race For Relevance Race for Relevance: 5 Radical Changes for Associations by these same authors, but it presents a more actionable set of questions and recommendations!. A Concise Book about Griping Michael Spinosa This book is a targeted effort for consultants to gripe about there regular issues in dealing with associations. The knowledge they are trying to depart is washed away by focusing on the issues and there eventual outcomes rather than the resolution thereof. The case studies offered do little to help but feel that this was much more than a pulpit for consultants to be upset about the accounts they couldn't make work through these pragmatic changes. The predecessor of this book is far superior and . powerful read about the decline of membership and ideas to help groups become more relevant loves to read This was an excellent book that certainly made the point that associations, and non-profits are in trouble with declining membership. They gave a lot of information as to the whys which was very informative. Their solutions seemed somewhat drastic for my particular organization, but they made total sense. It is whether an organization has the backbone to make the changes necessary to become more relevant.
