A timely reprint of an airship classic Up until now readers who wanted to buy a copy of Walmsely's iconic pictorial history of the British airship R 101 had to shell out serious bucks for an out-of-print copy. Thankfully, that has all changed with this reasonably priced and attractive paperback version. The photographs - there are hundreds of them - are taken from original prints in the archives of the Airship Historical Trust in England. There is also, thankfully, a good deal of text which ably covers the magnifi. History Made Alive Donald M. Mackay The idea of a pictorial history is wonderful. Through this book the reader can feel he is right back in the R101 time. I loved the pictures of the major personalities and the hundreds of workers who contributed to this amazing ship. I also loved the pictures of Michael Rope's amazing inventions. The R101 is worth every ounce of study because she is a perfect example of pushing the envelope of technology for all ages.
