We had always been a family with Piedmont Airlines, and Tom Davis cared about his employees. Every Christmas season, we would ALL get a brand new $100. bill, thanking us for being such a great airline. It's a shame today that so many airline employees are just considered a number.. Very thorough history of a truly special place and time in American history. Growing up in the '70s and '80s, Piedmont was the airline that took us "over the river and through the woods" to Grandma's house for Christmas every other year (and brought Grandma to us in the odd-numbered years).
