One brother returns from the war wounded, but both brothers are at loose ends and uncomfortable with each other, themselves, their lives, and their relationships, particularly with their late fath. not O'Brien's best, but great nonetheless A fascinating look at the complex relationship between two brothers, one of whom fought in Vietnam, Northern Lights also examines other issues.
