Excellent science resource for intermediate kids The photographs are super and the explanations are scientific (elementary) but clear. Parts would be fine for class read aloud. Excellent plant project guidelines are also included, with detailed, step-by-step instructions.. FELICIA said Seeds and Seedlings. I was highly disappointed in this book. Thought there would be more key information to reference.If I could I would send it back.
From School Library Journal Grade 4-7. A basic introduction to seeds that includes projects and experiments. . Each experiment is introduced by a question (e.g., "How does water affect seed growth?" "Can plants grow around obstacles?"), includes a list of materials and instructions, and ends with "Results" and "Conclusion" sections that pose additional questions and encourage the interpretation of experiment results (Pascoe does not give "expected results" before the experiments are actually done). The clearly written, interesting text is enhanced by numerous high-quality, full-color photographs.
