"A compelling historical murder mystery" according to Jose-Marie Griffiths. I love a good mystery and I enjoy courtroom dramas. This book has both and brings them together in a compelling story that held me to the end. At first, I was a little annoyed at the well-researched family heritages, but as the story unfolded I found myself realizing that this was what was important in those days; that family and name and position were key elements of one's identity. Eddie W Bartolacci said I highly recommend this book. My wife and I read this book, and both of us really enjoyed it. It is very seldom that I read a book that I just can't put down, but this one really made it hard to quit for the night. Even when my eyes were tired I would think, just one more chapter, before stopping for the night.If you like history, genealogy, or just a good mystery, you will enjoy this book.
