But I found the writing to be clear and easy to read. The book flowed well and was one that I didn't mind reading for hours without stopping. Maggie Dove is an enjoyable character who has some depth and interest to her. I wasn't a fan of the Sunday School teacher vibe. tomwbreen said and the humor and care and attention that she brings to every aspect of her life make even the most mundane ruminations a joy to. Maggie Dove is one of those rare literary creations who emerges fully formed from the very first paragraph of the book. She is loving, strong, and generous; she is petty, fearful, and distrustful. She is an ordinary woman with an extraordinary capacity for empathy and self-reflection, and the humor and care and attention that she brings to every aspect of her life make even the most mundane ruminations a joy to beho. Captured me from page one Alisa Schindler Practical and a bit prissy, but also sharp and worthy of respect, Maggie Dove reminded me a bit of my grandmother, someone everyone loved and no one messed with. I easily fell into the book and was swept along by the author's vibrant, descriptive prose. It was wonderfully well written, with a well drawn cast of entertaining small town characters and twists that kept me turning, Maggie Dove is the perfect book to snu
