This book offers comprehensive coverage of Foreign Legion uniforms and equipment of the First Vietnam War, which saw virtually every unit of the Legion serve, and that resulted in almost 12,000 deaths of Legion troops.This book is printed on high quality paper, with excellent color photographs of the subject matter, along with many excellent black & white, with some color also, photos of Foreign Legion troops in the field, ceremonial events, and off duty. I have a number of books on the Legion, and have not previously seen 90% of the . 4.5 and almost must have for fans of the Legion Jonathan Weller "LA LE'GION E'TRANGE'RE EN INDOCHINE 1946-1956" is an almost must have for anyone interested in the French-Indochina War of 1946-1954. There is very little available on this war in the English language; so, if you want to see photographs and uniform pictures, you have to buy the book in French. This is the only reason I gave this book 4.5 stars and not 5.This book is an awesome overview of the progression of the Legion from the end of World War Two until the beginning of the Algerian War in 1954. It says it goes through 1956, but I couldn't really tell where it left off . Fantastic overview David S. Long A wonderful book that covers, in general, the Legion in Indochina. I am a fan of Heimdal and Histoire et collections, both excellent publishers of military history from France. As usual, their work does not dissapoint.
Over 650 images are included, of which 400 are of color objects.. French TextHeimdal offers here another well-researched work in similar style to the Kriegsmarine.
