Intense poetic gems accumulating with narrative sweep In this book, the author has written a kind of memoir in verse of her beautiful love affair with a man afflicted with a debilitating and ultimately terminal illness. The poems are all quite short, perhaps two or three lines, reminiscent in this way of a haiku, as many of them have the intensity coiled into a few words that then explode in a sudden apercu of nature or love or both reflecting each other. But the voice that emerges has the clarity and dagger-direct honesty of Emily Dickinson, addressed as many of the poems are to the belo. clewter said This book is an amazing work of art. This book is an amazing work of art, so easy to read, and yet deeply inspiring. Ms. Floor manages to bring nature, life, and death into our homes in a most comfortable manner. Her sensitivity and humor are refreshing. I'm ready for more from this very gifted author.
