"Overly simplified and quite misleading on many aspects" according to JimTheScotRadioman. This was a promising book however I found it to be overly simplified on its descriptions and quite misleading on not only the types of radio systems but also their manufacturer's and development history and applications. I grade this book an F for failure on a scholastic scale and on a proper guidance and basics building.. "Not worth the money" according to Harvey A. Lewis. All you get are Not worth the money All you get are 30-odd pages of acronyms and their definitions - nothing useful it the way of details concerning the initiation of calls or theory on trunked radios. It just says they "do this" or "do that". I wanted to know the logic that covers channel allocation and what goes on on the control channel.. 0-odd pages of acronyms and their definitions - nothing useful it the way of details concerning the initiation of calls or theory on trunked radios. It just says they "do this" or "do that". I wanted to know the logic that covers channel allocation and what goes on on the control channel.. Not worth the purchase price dutch schultz This book is really short, about a quarter of it is just intro and the advertisements at the end. The margins take up most of the page space so there is not much text and what is there is not evenly descriptive. Illustrations are poor. In my opinion there was very little LMR information in this book.
