"This was published in the 1970s!" according to HP. This was a good book when it came out in the 1970s, but a great many things have happened in world cricket and Indian cricket since then. It is probably not worthwhile to buy now. A more up-do-date book would be "A History of Indian Cricket" by Mihir Bose, which brings the story up to the early 2000s.
