They are not too predictable, not too sappy. They have real life characters dealing with real life emotions. They are clean.which limits the author a bit but she handles that well. I am an old English teacher and have read a lot (LOT)of books. This is not Dickens or Wilkey Collins, but it is good, clean, realistic and mildly suspenseful literature which is nice as an escape after a long, sometimes weary d.
