DESCRIPTION:
ZC said One of my favorite textbooks of all time. I moved to Japan about 10 months ago and I needed a textbook to learn the language. I settled on the second edition of Genki and I couldn't be happier with the decision. Working your way through the textbook (and workbook) require a lot of time and dedication. That's true of any textbook, but with Genki it's even more so because the authors don't hold your hand and the book is written with the assumption that you are serious about learning Japanese. Be warned, this is not a learn-Japanese-in-a-month style book, nor an EZ-Japanese style book. No shortcuts are taken here. If you are OK with that fact, then I can't recommend this book enoug. Don't stress too much though because there are plenty of sites to practice, such as lang-8, a free s. Genki is my amazing amazing savior and worth it {to me} Amazing book it's very modern and has a fashionable cover. The content in this book is very understandable and friendly. If your thinking of buying this get the workbook It's a great conjunction to the textbook especially to practice what you've learned in the textbook ! I didn't buy the answer key because I don't have anyone here that knows Japanese that could check my work but I use an app called HiNative (both on iOS and android) where I can asked questions about the language I want to learn. I have gotten to ask whether my answers where correct in the work book and it's worked out just fine! Also I have Tae Kim's grammar guide (blue
