"Life Saving Through Sacrifice" according to Steven A. Chase. I never read Mr. Irving's books when they were current. I just started to check him out and, being a criminal defense lawyer, I found them intriguing and fast paced. "Final Argument" does not disappoint. This is a realistic portrayal of what criminal defense lawyers face with their clients and their cases. The character development is outstanding; the plot twist. "Like "Trial", a fast-paced legal whodunit" according to Pushing 70. I love lawyer/cop books and this is one of the best. If it keeps me reading late into the night, then I know it's good. The Florida setting with a former assistant prosecutor now working for a high-end law firm is quite believable coming from a family full of lawyers. None of them are inclined to read this book but if they did I know they'd find it well-written . A cut above the rest A very unusual approach to criminal legal thrillersit kept one spellbound and I liked the way it ended. Unlike quite a few of the current titles, it did manage to tie up almost all the loose ends but not in a contrived manner.
