Chelito said One Heck of a Good Read. This is the fourth book which I have inhaled in the Lost Regiment series. If anyone enjoys history and fantasy and the thrill of battle, as well as its sorrow and consequence, you couldn't go wrong with these stories.Forstchen is clearly adept at holding your interest and making the endings believable and satisfying.I no longer read paper books but will make an exception with these tales. The last five are not available in Kindle editions, at least not yet, so I'll start turning paper pages againwouldn't do it for any old series, but this clearly is not any old series.Read the fir. Charles F. Kartman said A very grand battle. Keane's plan to retreat to Roum creates severe logistics problems for the much larger Merki horde, making the big showdown a closely fought battle. The war in the air continues and there is a bit of a sideshow in Cartha, but this book is all about the grand battle between the Merki, now led by Tamuka, and the remnants of the army Keane brought out of Rus. And it is a very grand battle that is affected by morale, logistics, technology, and leadership woven together masterfully by Mr. Forstchen. I found the very end to be a bit rushed but overall this was a very satisfying book.. "easily my favourite books and the story never gets old" according to Amazon Customer. Read this series well over a decade ago, easily my favourite books and the story never gets old - why aren't the rest of the books out in kindle version?
