DESCRIPTION:
"GREED" according to Dbanner. What a shame that the greed of a few individuals at a high level of management could hurt so many people who were employees of Enron and stockholders of the company. In reading the book, I concluded that Skilling and Lay were not the criminals they were accused of being. They were found guilty for believing that what their subordinates had told them was true. Shouldn't we assume that what we are told is true? That is the rule of law in the court. Conspiracy of Foolds Carla C. Kerr I began reading this book with some misgivings because the subject matter isn't exactly tea fare. Having not read anything by Kurt Eichenwald until now, I was thrilled with his writing style. I lived in Dallas during all the hoopla and news of the demise of Enron so I was somewhat familiar with the main characters. Eichenwald does a marvelous job of developing these characters and their personalities with all their pluses and minuses. Unadultera. An incredible story that is almost painful to absorb. Brookemeister The raw ambition, lack of principles and perspective of some of the leading characters made organized crime bosses look good. I appreciated the deep research but at the same time felt it dragged the story to a crawl at times.
