Intriguing Amazon Customer CINDERELLA GIRL is the second Conny Sjøberg book from Swedish author Carin Gerhardsen, the English title of the first book being THE GINGERBREAD HOUSE. Having missed that one when it came out in the middle of 2013, there's some catching up required. It did seem to take a very long time for anything much to happen here. A lot of time is spent introducing the reader to two teenage sisters, living with their alcoholic mother, in less than satisfactory circumstances. Borderline neglected, these two girls are very used to looking after themselves, and some of their methods are unpleasant and could be confronting. There's a tendency, in. Read The Gingerbread House first I really enjoyed this book and it's twists and turns. Really need to read the Gingerbread House first though - with the next novel (please make it soon!) Carin should try and get away from trying to fill the reader in on who's who etc and be confident that, like other series books, the reader will catch on or start reading the series in order so they don't need the references and Carin you can then concentrate on your excellent plots.. jlb said A great series. I read the reviews on this book as well as the previous one, The Gingerbread House, and took the advice to read them in order. I loved the Gingerbread House as well as Cinderella Girl. There are quite a few characters but I was able to keep them in some order. I was ready to read the next one only to find out that it hasn't been released here in the US. The ending was such that you were looking forward to the next read. I love a good mystery/thriller and am finding the Swedish authors to be very interesting.I would recommend you read the Gingerbread House first and then Cinderella Girl.
