DESCRIPTION:
Fabulous Read! carpediem Stop scrolling. You want to read this book.I devoured "Bad Dyke" in one sitting. Allison Moon's words are the part of the queer canon I didn't know I was missing––her writing is alternately hilarious and sexy, self-deprecating and unabashedly true.I can't wait to read what she writes next. Do yourself a favor and buy this book now.. Amazon Customer said I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Reading it gave me warm fuzzies - from nostalgia about my own time at a small liberal arts school to appreciation of the author's navigation of becoming a grown up in California. This book gives a voice to many of us who were high school queers in the late 1990's and are now creating and figuring out the queer world we live in today. I'm also impressed whenever people who work in the sex world tell their fun, racy stories without turning it into erotica. The book loses one star because of the writing. The writing is good, but not amazing. There are some typos. "I have not read a book with so much heterosexual" according to Kris B.. I have not read a book with so much heterosexual sex in it in forever. I continued reading this book because it kept me interested and maybe made me think. I read mostly lesbian books, this was not even close. When you are a woman and you are sleeping with a man, no matter what kind of activity, you are straight. In the entire book there is maybe three scenes about "dykes" and I had previously read one in another book, which is how I found this book in the first place. The writing is really well done, just not a lesbian story at all.
"This book's a winner, a fantastic marriage between a one-of-a-kind narrator and an irresistible story."- Lambda Literary
Furry-style fox hunts, breaking into waterparks, and masturbating in trees. It's all just part of the queer life of author and sex-educator Allison Moon. This collection of 18 memoirs celebrates the humor and tenderness of falling in and out of love and in and out of bed."Moon's (Girl Sex 101) voice is clear, frank, and refreshingly without shame as she recounts her winding and often-confusing path toward discovering her sexual identity." -PUBLISHERS WEEKLY (Starred Review)"When Allison Moon tells a story, you're in for a helluva treat. She's one of the sexiest, silliest, smartest storytellers I know!" - KEVIN ALLISON, RISK! Podcast
