Angels in America is essentially a theatrical work, and the miniseries came off just as that, a filmed stage play, espcially in Part 1: Millenium Approaches, so that it seemed re. Powerful and immaculate writing Every scene is a sharp stand alone event. I wasn't sure about the ending until I realized that a life affirming spirit lifting end was mandatory.
